Driven by passion
Simon and Sarah share a deep love for nature and a desire to live more self-sufficiently. From growing their own fruit and vegetables to learning how to make food from scratch, their journey has been guided by curiosity, care, and a willingness to give things a go.
With Sarah’s encouragement — and a simple but powerful piece of advice from Simon’s mum, “just do it” — Simon began baking sourdough for the two of them back at their farm gate. After moving to Gisborne, and with the support of those around him, he continued baking, driven by the simple fact that he couldn’t find the kind of bread he was looking for in the Macedon Ranges.
What began as a small, personal pursuit has since grown into something much bigger — a business that brings joy to many. They say practice makes perfect, and that dedication is exactly why we believe Simon’s crumpets are the best. But behind his success is something even more meaningful: a strong, supportive community that has been part of the journey every step of the way.
Simon is a man of many talents and a genuine force for good. He has contributed to shaping the Gisborne Town Team alongside fellow local legend Katrina, and has long been passionate about wellbeing in all aspects of life. An early adopter of electric vehicles, he continues to care deeply for the natural world.
Generous with his time and spirit, Simon gives so much back to his community. A true legend — and someone we feel incredibly lucky to work with.
2026 marks the 10-year anniversary of Millett Road’s business journey.
The People Behind the Produce: Those Who Make a Difference
Matty & nikki
Woodend Farmer's Market ManagersWith a vision to create something truly meaningful, Matty has been at the heart of it all since 2011. Teaming up with Nikki, he helped bring the Woodend Farmers’ Market to life — a space built on supporting farmers, celebrating the quality of fresh produce, and championing small-batch, handcrafted goods.
More than just a market, it’s a one-stop gathering place centred on wellbeing, connection, and genuine human interaction — a reflection of the values Matty and Nikki continue to lead with every step of the way.
Their commitment extends beyond the market stalls. Through initiatives like “Wash Against Waste,” they actively work to reduce landfill by encouraging reusable systems and minimising single-use materials. It’s a practical, community-driven approach to caring for the environment — one that reflects their deep respect for the land, the producers, and the future of local food systems.
Briohny
Macedon Village Farmer's Market ManagerBriohny is someone who moves through life with purpose and energy. A busy mum and a devoted partner, she’s also deeply involved in supporting her husband’s business — but that’s only part of her story.
At heart, Briohny is a doer. She embraces life fully, giving her time generously through volunteering at a wide range of community events. When the opportunity arose to bring the Macedon Farmers’ Market back to life, she stepped forward and took on the responsibility with determination and care.
Guided by her strong belief in wellbeing and respect for the environment, Briohny brings people together, creating spaces that feel thoughtful, connected, and grounded in what truly matters.
Nick didn’t move to Riddells Creek with a grand plan. Sixteen years ago, it was simply a place that felt right—a little quieter, a little closer to the kind of life you don’t have to chase.
It didn’t take long before he fell in love with the local farmers market. At first, it was just a Saturday ritual—coffee in hand, wandering between stalls, chatting with growers, tasting what was in season. But over time, it became something more. He saw the early mornings, the hard work behind every loaf, every jar, every bunch of greens. He saw people who cared deeply about what they made, even when it wasn’t the easiest path.
Nick understood that kind of work. He’d lived it. From running his own café to setting up a restaurant, hospitality had shaped him. Long hours, constant problem-solving, the quiet pride of creating something people return to. He knew what it meant to pour yourself into a business—not just for profit, but for purpose.
He always notices that many small business owners around him — talented, passionate, dedicated, but often struggled to be seen. Not because they lacked quality, but because the world tends to reward scale over substance. That never sat right with him.
So Nick did what he’s always done: he leaned in. He had spent years as a business coach—never one for corporate jargon or one-size-fits-all formulas, but grounded in lived experience. He listened, asked the right questions, and helped people uncover what made them truly stand out.
When the opportunity came up, Nick put his hand up to be part of the farmers’ market committee. It felt like a natural step, bringing everything full circle. Drawing on his years of experience, he now works alongside growers and makers, helping them shape their stories, refine their offerings, and stand confidently behind the value of what they produce. Not to scale for the sake of it, but to stay true to who they are. His focus remains simple—help those who care about quality find their voice and their place. For Nick, success isn’t loud. It’s not about expansion for the sake of it. It’s about alignment—between what you make, why you make it, and the people who value it.
And on any given weekend, you’ll still find him at the market. Still connecting the dots between people, stories, and the quiet magic of small things done well.
Because for Nick, it was never just about business. It was always about helping good people shine.
